First time here. We're impressed. They have Udi's gluten free bread. The food is hot and delicious. Bottomless coffee and it's great coffee. Food is fresh and tasty. Service is fast and friendly.

Local deli is fine for chicken soup and corned beef sandwiches. Similar to 3 G's and poppies... Kings point crowd seems happy.

These days it is difficult to find a real good Jewish Deli in South Florida. Look no more, The Gramercy is one of the best I ever experienced in my 32 years in South Florida. The Matzo Ball soup maybe the best I ever had anywhere with loads of fresh white meat chicken and carrots and not too salty. The baked round potato knish was delicious, my combo turkey/chopped liver on rye was excellent the bread and bagel chips hit the spot perfectly along with great cole slaw and pickles. The service was very professional and fast. A must for all true deli lovers!

Had an awful experience there today. Our waiter was rude from the get go. He was scarcastic and when he brought me the wrong meal he turned around and never said " I'm sorry" or " Gee... we made a mistake but stormed off and brought me the right one without a word. Never came back to table to ask how our meal was or if he could refil my husbands coffee. We drove 30 mms to get there cuz we heard it was good but will certainly NOT b back!! Next time... Anywhere else but here!!

Great corned beef. Best since NY. Forget Two Jays theirs is rubbery. Great friendly Staff. Was going for a MRI and found this gem.

Food is good and fresh, some portions are on the small side for what they charge. A little pricey compared to their local competitors. But biggest observation is how dirty the place is...tables not cleaned, silverware is really. filthy. Coffee cups dirty. They need to pay a little more attention to the cleanliness (and health-related) aspects.

After 4 years in West Delray we visited Gramercy for the first time today for a late lunch. After reading some recent Yelp reviews I wasn't sure what to expect. We were very pleasantly surprised and are happy to share our positive experience. First, the atmosphere and decor is superior to most of the other similar restaurants. Second, the restaurant (and washroom) was clean, contrary to a previous review. Third, the service was friendly and efficient...at least as good or better than the competition. Finally, the food, though not inexpensive, was tasty and the portions reasonably generous. In fact, one of our party had a soup and half sandwich and the bowl of soup was huge. Possibly management has paid attention to previous criticism, but all-in-all a 4 star experience today, and we will definitely go back.

Very disappointed for what I paid for the taste & quality of food here. I tried the Motzo Ball soup, which wasn't anything special at all & half a chicken salad sandwich - $11.50 + $2.50 for a drink. I will never be back here for lunch again... The lunch was worth $7 at best. Save your time & money for somewhere more deserving.

It is a very casual restaurant. Located in a strip mall. The waiters were extremely helpfully but overworked. The meal is a large one, for about 16 dollars one get appetizer , main corse dessert and coffee. There is an early bird special which we avoided. The portions were large and taste. The desserts were very good time we go I will share the meal. It is crowded early but if you avoid early bird, the wait. Is tolerably

Met some friends for a late lunch and was very disappointed. The dividers (railing) near our table were very dusty. The bathroom wasn't very clean. It wasn't crowded, yet the service was slow and uneven. We had to flag down the waitress for beverage refills. The food was below par. The menu is huge...and so were the prices. There was nothing special about their specials. Potato pancakes were flavorless and doughy, french toast was barely dipped in egg. Wraps were eh. Not an impressive place, no need to go back when there are so many better places in the area.

Our guests have been coming to Gramercy since the day it opened and boy has this place changed. Five of us We went for breakfast on Monday morning. We all ordered the breakfast special $3.99 for two eggs, potatoes and a bagel with coffee . One of our guests has Celiac and for years they have been substituting the bagel for a bowl of oatmeal. All of a sudden the owner had come over and said " we are never supposed to substitute ANYTHING and we cannot give you oatmeal" He did offer a bagel to take home but we were set on Oatmeal. Since we have been coming here for years and we recommend Gramercy to all of our friends and neighbors we will not longer be coming here. It's pretty stupid of an owner to lose so many customers over a $1.50 bowl of oatmeal. Waitress staff is not so good either. You have to repeat and ask for everything multiple times. Waitress even forgot to bring us items we ordered. The place had about 10 customers so it's no excuse. I would not recommend this place to anyone. After reading the other reviews it looks like Gramercy has gone down hill fast. Thank god for Flakowitz.

Not great. Soggy sandwich and "old" looking cucumber salad was my lunch today. What seemed like a bargain special, buy one, get one free, faded quickly when you saw the regular prices. $13.50 for a Montecristo sandwich and fries? Flavor was fine but unfortunately I probably won't be back b

Damon Runyan said "There are two types of people in this world, those who like delis and those with whom you should not associate. " I think the Bard of Broadway will forgive me for hating Gramercy Bagels & Deli. It is debatable in Jewish culinary theology whether noodles should accompany a matzoh ball in chicken soup, but one thing is clear: If you're going to put the noodles in, they should not be so overcooked that they are mush, not noodles. That happend, so I told the waitress. She got me a new one. It was just as bad. Strike two. They put out a corned beef and swiss where someone shaved the swiss like it's a truffle. I asked for a life preserver to save my cole slaw which was drowning in sauce. Apparently no one has heard of a slotted spoon or a strainer in the kitchen. Which brings us to the principal problem of Gramercy Bagels & Deli. If there were Nuremberg culinary trials for crimes against Jewish soul food, this chef would be sent to the firing squad line. It has all of the look of a good deli. The service isn't bad. The kitchen just sucks. Can the kitchen, and start over again. What's really sad is we need a good deli that isn't schmaltzy chain like Too Jays or Tiffany-priced like Way Beyond Bagels. This is not the answer to your deli prayers. It's more of a Tim Burton impression of a deli.

Been going there for about 8 years but Sunday was my last time. The manager never heard the expression the customer is always right. I realize it's a rough crowd in West Delray but you need to be careful and treat your locals with respect . I think it says a great deal about a place when you go there weekly and never have the same server. The owner needs to be more involved. Get a new GM! Please

Good for casual breakfasts, lunches, or dinners. During the summer, there are reduced price, complete dinner specials. I like Gramercy's breakfasts. The food is very good, and the portions are large. For lunch, I usually have the Matzo Ball Soup or a deli sandwich. My favorite sandwich is a combo sandwich called The New Yorker (corned beef, pastrami, Swiss cheese, cole slaw, and Russian dressing). Their entree salads are huge. For dinner, Gramercy offers many Complete Dinners (bread, appetizer, entree, dessert, and beverage). It's a lot of average food. Desserts are very good. The service can come with attitude, but the restaurant patrons can be fussy and demanding. Overall, I like the restaurant, and I can always find very good food to eat. Gramercy has both deli and bakery counters.

Went back a couple of weeks ago and again enjoyed the atmosphere of this busy place. I went with friends who go there pretty regularly and seem to be very friendly with a lot of the servers. My breakfast was A-OK this time and I have no reservations of raising them to a 4th star.

I think the food is generally pretty good but the prices are very high for South Florida. New York food at New York prices doesn't really cut it in Delray Beach. $10 for a scoop of chicken salad on a piece of lettuce? Seriously? I've been there twice because it's convenient to some family in the area. Not a real destination.

I've been here several times because it's close to a friends house. I never know what to expect when I eat here. One time it will be pretty good, the next time it's terrible. They have an extensive menu with a lot of complete dinners which include soup or appetizer, entree, beverage, and dessert. There's a chalk board near the entrance that lists daily specials. They also have a lot of deli items including sandwiches. The last time I was there, a few weeks ago, was probably my last time. My cousin ordered the London broil, an entree he's had many times before. The meat was so tough he couldn't chew it. He kept spitting it into his napkin. Our server had asked if everything was okay before we had tasted the food. Now we couldn't find her. I finally asked the busser to get the manager. My cousin told the manager that the meat was so tough that he couldn't chew it. Instead of an apology she said that that's how their London broil always is. It didn't seem to phase her that my cousin had ordered it before. My friend who had ordered fish said the fish tasted okay, but the serving size was smaller then when he had previously ordered it. The manager said that was impossible since everything was measured. I don't know about being measured, but the piece of fish was tiny. My cousin agreed to replace the London broil with a sandwich and he paid extra for the soup and soda that would have come with the complete meal. When our server saw the manager at our table she scolded us for getting the manager instead of telling her if we had a problem. I told her we would have gladly told her if she had come back to our table. There have been other times when I didn't like the food. But there also have been times when I thought it was pretty good. The service has been iffy, depending on your server. You usually have to ask for refills of water, cokes, etc.

Not impressed.... Only reason I didn't give it one star is because the staff were friendly. Food was cold and tasteless. Apricot chicken had a little apricot jam on the outside. Tasteless and cold.... Not coming back.

The food here is decent, though there's nothing necessarily special. The sandwiches are huge; however, I agree with other posters in that the food is generally overpriced. The service was quick and friendly.

Pretty good bagels and sandwiches, but the prices are NOT a bargain. I ordered a turkey off the bone with cheese on a bagel and it was $11 The Diet Coke in a can was $1.50 A small serving of tuna on the side was $3.50 However, the turkey was very good and they really overstuffed the bagel. I just wish they would serve less turkey on their sandwiches (cut it in half) and lower the prices.

These stars come with a qualifier: DELI FOOD. I have not strayed from this realm and have not been disappointed here, but just looking at the huge menu can say, as reviewers here attest, that there's no way that all of these different meals can be made well in one restaurant. The menu needs serious editing. I have had good luck with standard deli breakfast items such as the nova, bagels, and such, as well as the eggs. One of my favorite things to get there is a breakfast sandwich--you can choose your bagel (I'm a bialy girl), cheese or no, various meats or not, all assembled with two delicious eggs. The reviewer below who compared the breakfast food to McDonald's is WAY off. The breakfast sandwich at Gramercy is great. On the lunch menu, I love the Matzo ball soup. It's much better than TooJay's wash water, by a long shot. Just last week, I stopped in for lunch, not feeling 100% (a snifter of Sambuca after dinner the night before) and ordered the cup of soup half sandwich deal at Gramercy. For my soup, the Matzo ball, of course, and the Waldorf Chicken Salad for the half sandwich. The soup was just what I needed, and a cup really is a bowl, so be careful on that one. Shreds of white meat chicken floating in a rich but not fatty broth, befriended by carrot slices, celery and of course, light but satisfying matzo balls. The rye bread was so good that I thought about buying a loaf, and while the chicken salad had probably too many grapes for my liking, the sandwich was delicious, accompanied by a half-sour pickle, a cucumber salad (you can choose a side from a long list), and sliced tomatoes. This meal put me back on my feet and made me feel great. Stick to the deli range of foods here and you'll be fine. When I started going here it was not open for dinner--this is a new and probably bad idea. A Gramercy breakfast gives a real taste of Delray, from the benches outside, to the deli counter when you enter, to the cans of Cel-Ray on the tables as the hostess walks you to your table. Give it a try--with the deli emphasis.

Came here with my Dad and great Uncle for a late lunch. My Dad and I ordered the Stacked turkey sandwich with our choice of challa bread for the buns. Turkey was fine but didn't blow me away. This is your typical deli sandwich for the deli's around here. I probably won't be back since I am on a search for a great deli in the area. The search continues!

I give it 4 stars because I come from New Jersey and know 5 stars. The place is CLEAN. The service is PROMPT. The food is fresh, good and the portions are decent. The breakfast special is the best deal around. Make that 4 and a half stars. Arthur S

The worst food ever. Quantity not quality. My husband ordered the scrod and it was not edible. The lowest grade of fish. I ordered an omelette and they made it so awful. The owner is also a very nasty man My advice stay away there are better places to eat in the area. It doesn't even deserve the one star.

Dined here for lunch this past weekend and it was a pleasant surprise. Located in West Boca it is full of the blue hair and walker crowd but hey, they know good deli and this is good deli. The restaurant is a nice size but my party ended up having to wait about 20 minutes as the place was packed on a Sunday at lunch time. I don't know if it always like this or if the holidays meant large parties with the grand-kids in tow. The menu is expansive and has everything from breakfast to pastrami sandwiches. I opted for their stuffed cabbage lunch, and was very pleased with it. Two plump cabbage rolls filled with ground beef and rice swimming in a sweet sauce served with a side of macaroni salad left me with a smile. It tasted very fresh and was delicious. Other diners seemed satisfied as well. I have heard the smoked fish is also very good, but have not had a chance to try it out, but if the stuffed cabbage is any indication of the quality of food here, I am looking forward to it. Plus, they serve Dr. Brown's sodas. Good stuff.

Simple: - it's clean - it's crowded - it's decorated better than most delis - it offers design a salad - it's got great French toast - it's service is better than most delis with waiters in black & white.

I don't understand the poor reviews. I've been here twice and would come more often, but I don't live in town. I've been for breakfast and for lunch and both have been great! Service has always been very good - attentive and prompt, even when busy (which they always seem to be). Like another reviewer said, I would recommend sticking with their deli and bakery items, as those are their specialities. Their food is fresh, tasty, and genuine deli style. Eggs are always cooked right. Their eggs and nova are great, as well as their potato pancakes... Yum! I'm obsessed with their mushroom barley soup! Ask for the complimentary pickles (in place of bread given at other restaurants) - a combo of dills and half-sours (I ask for all half-sours). Their bakery items are great! LOVE their chocolate ruggallah, sugar cookies, and laceys! I find their prices to be average and reasonable, even on the low side for the area. Both times I've even ordered food to go and will definitely return the next time I'm in town!

With all the delis in the area Gramercy fits in as on par with the rest for lunch food. Their half sandwich and soup lunch included an enormous portion of National Roast Beef on fresh sliced bread. Our waitress was very experienced with this crowd and was like a mind reader and gave us excellent service. Somehow this establishment compliments the Greek diner in the same center. Cannot discuss any cooked food but would not hesitiate to stop in again for a sandwich. The soup was on par with Eli's 50's diner, probably not homemade stock with added celery, chicken and carrots for color. The noodles were properly cooked. It might be better to eat here for lunch not dinner. There were many specials at the popular prices of Delray Beach not New York with full dinners for 10.95 so it is worth a try if you are seeking an attractive room and do not want to eat in Poppies or Bagel Twins. Way Beyond Bagels does not do the same type of service. But this is not a review of Way Beyond Bagels.

Had a Rachel and my wife had the make your own salad. Both were good, and so was the price. Service was quick and my only complain would be they had the A/C turned up and even with the fans, I was sweating and sticking to the seat!

I am a big fan of Gramercy. I live in New Orleans where there is no deli to speak of, so I always visit here when I go to Delray Beach which is several times a year. Just so you know, my husband and his family are from New York and love this place as much as I do. I would not order anything but deli type food here, but everything that I have had is prepared just right. My favorite sandwich is the Rachel which is a Reuben with pastrami. It is one of the most delicious sandwiches that I have every eaten with just the right amount of meat to sauerkraut to swiss cheese. I usually get the cucumber salad as my side. I like the touch of sweetness in it. My husband thinks that the matzo ball soup is one of the best that he has ever eaten. Yes, it has noodles in it which is unusual, but he likes the way that the noodles are cooked. The matzo balls are huge but extremely light and fluffy--so tasty. It may not be the fastest place to eat, but it is worth the wait. I also am a big fan of their baked goods including the bialys and bobka. I understand that many people have fond memories of this style food from their childhood and have certain expectations of what it should taste like. I recommend the Gramercy Deli and have never had a bad meal.

I came here for the first time last weekend and go the eggs with sausage and a bagel and i thought it was pretty good. Not many good breakfast/delis in this area so I thought it was one of the best places. Everyone else enjoyed their meal too which is always a plus.

Well sorry to say this is one place that I will not go back to. They are OK for the usual bagels and cream cheese stuff but forget it for dinner. I had the unfortunate experience of ordering the Hungarian Goulash, what a mistake. The beef meat looked just like it came from a can. It was red and mushy. It looked like the kind you get when you eat a Dinty Moore can of beef. The noodles were flat in taste to say the least and the sauce, it that is what you call it, could not be arroused with amounts of salt and pepper. No matter what I did to give it some taste nothing worked. The service was slow, but to be honest the place was crowded so that is a given. My wife had chicken livers and she said they were soggy with a strange taste. My sister-in-law had Matzo ball soup. She was pleased with it and said it was up to her standards coming from New Jersey. My wife if from NYC and knows good deli food. Unfortuanely this is not one of those places.
